Pastoral Letter 2024

Hello Friends and Happy Pentecost to everyone!

Soon you will be receiving a Pastoral Letter in the mail from me called “Jesus is Lord.”

In this letter I wish to express to all of you my own heart as I enter my ninth year as the pastor of this local church and our shared and common desire to begin everything with Jesus. It begins with Jesus. It always begins with Jesus.  It is a tremendous time to be a Catholic disciple of Jesus in the world. As always there are many challenges, but the Holy Spirit is with us daily deepening our choice to make Jesus the Lord of our life and the source of our hope for the world.

Accompanying next month’s Eastern Oklahoma Catholic magazine release, you will receive a 24-page English/Spanish booklet containing my letter and a strategic plan for the diocese, now in its 51st year. I am presenting three priorities for the diocese moving forward with many opportunities to leverage resources and use the temporal resources of the diocese more effectively and efficiently. I love being your bishop. I look forward to the next several years that we will be working to implement this Pastoral Plan. May God bless you and may the Holy Spirit descend upon you and fill you with His true joy. Amen.
